ABOUT THE BOOK
A well illustrated and comprehensive commentary of the End Times which is directed towards the mature Christian who wants to better understand how the Book of Revelation relates to both the Olivet Discourse and the prophecies of the Book of Daniel.
Respectfully written - this ‘everyday’ commentary outlines all 4 Major Schools of Interpretation:
Idealism - allegorical approach
Preterism - past history approach
Historicism - continuous history approach &
Futurism - future history approach
As well as explaining the Key Futurist views of the Rapture
(Pre-Trip, Mid-Trib, Post-Trip and Pre-Wrath) including their pro’s & con’s.
In presenting the Last Day Last Trump (LDLT) View of the Resurrection/Rapture the Author has skilfully integrated and aligned not only all key passages of Scripture but also the prophetic fulfilment view of the last 3 ‘Feasts of the Lord’.

Study of “Last Things”
The inside back cover provides a pictorial representation as to how this Author’s view is aligned to other End Times - Scheme of Arrangements.
So if the LDLT View of the Book of Revelation does not align with your own views - and you don’t wish to consider ‘other views’ at this time - you can save your money and buy something that’s more in accordance with your own ‘End Time’ views!
On the other hand if your are wanting to better understand this entire area of Biblical study then this commentary is a very useful starting point.

LINKING OUR HERMENEUTICS & EXEGESIS TO OUR 12 QUESTIONS
The foregoing 12 Questions – while not being exhaustive - have at least attempted to illustrate the issues that will be formative in constructing anyone’s position on eschatology (the study of “last things”).
-
The Apostle John
-
Around 95 AD, towards the end of the reign of Caesar Domitian
-
It is Prophecy not Apocalyptic story telling. It is ‘self-declared’ (by the Apostle John) as a Book of Prophecy.
Appreciably, it does contain a number of visions, symbols and images – all of which must be carefully considered.
-
Yes. The linkages are reasonably clear between the Olivet Discourse, the prophecies of the Book of Daniel and the Events, Sequence & Time (EST) Chronology conveyed in the Book of Revelation.
-
Sequential order (or in series). The three septets (7’s) of Seals, Trumpets and Bowls of Wrath sequentially telescope from each other. The 7th Seal actually being all of the 7 Trumpets and the 7th Trumpet actually ending with all of the 7 Bowls of Wrath.
-
Literally a 1,000 year reign from the Second Coming until the release of Satan for a short (final) time, the Great White Throne resurrection / judgement and the dawn of the Eternal Age.
-
Yes. On the Last Day before “the End” & At the Last Trump.
This occurs – DURING the Days of the 7th Trumpet, sometime AFTER the proclamation of the Eternal Gospel to the World & ON the Feast of Trumpets BEFORE the 1st Bowl of Wrath is released.
-
Yes. They are separated by the Bowls of Wrath judgements.
The Resurrection-Rapture occurs on the Day of Trumpets and will be followed by the 7 Bowls of Wrath (ie the last few days of the 10 Days of Repentance/Awe). The 2nd Coming follows the Day of Atonement and the 7th and Final Bowl of Wrath AKA - the GREAT and AWESOME Day of the Lord – will also follow the Day of Atonement.
-
Yes. They are (will be) the same event.
-
Yes. The Saints or so-termed “Tribulation Saints” are the one-in-the-same-group as the Church. (In the New Testament writings “Church” typically refers to a specific group of believers whereas “Saints” is a more general term).
-
The ‘Mystery’ is the ‘partial hardening’ of Israel - Rom 11 v25-31.
It is stated by the Apostle Paul as being completed ONLY WHEN the fullness of the Gentiles has come in.
This occurs in the days of the 7th Trumpet - Rev 10 v7
-
No. The Man of Lawlessness arises during the Great Tribulation BUT the period of the Beast’s dominion over the Holy People for a time, times and ½ a time (ie 1,260 days) as recorded in Dan Ch 7 is a separate stand-alone prophecy given 10 years before Dan Ch 9.
The Beast’s dominion will, as clearly indicated in the Book of Revelation, be a separate period of trouble for the Gentile World - for the duration of the 7th Trumpet - during which time Israel is in fact being nurtured by God in the wilderness.
